About Me
Rashid Ali is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Computer Science, National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University Hsinchu, Taiwan. He is advised by Professor Lan-Da Van at Nature Intelligence Learning (NiL) Research Lab since October 2019. He received his B.S. degree in Computer Science from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan in 2015 and his M.S. degree in Big Data Systems with distinction from National Research University Higher School Economics, Moscow, Russia in 2018. The objective of his master thesis was to investigate the theory of data shift problem in machine learning applications. His research interests are intelligent algorithms, intelligent systems, machine learning, and deep learning for computer vision. His current research focused on human pose estimation, action recognition, virtual humans, and Digital Twin for the elevator system. It includes developing an intelligent virtual elevator system for human behavior detection inside the elevator and efficient elevator scheduling. He was a recipient of the national R&D scholarship by the government of Pakistan from 2011 to 2015 and open doors scholarship by the government of Russia from 2016 to 2018.
